Lexus, the luxury automobile division of the Japanese auto manufacturer, Toyota, has a little to establish. This is because approximately since its beginning, the luxury brand name has made all efforts to differentiate itself from its parent business, and the well-known luxury car maker boldly copied it in its early years. Consequently, when Lexus revealed the swoopy LF-LC coupe concept at the Auto Show held in 2012 in Detroit, Toyota grabbed the opportunity to make the critics tight-lipped.
The 2017 Lexus LC 500 Coupe is the latest endeavor of Toyota to instill the Lexus product with enthusiasm and a sagacity of individuality. It achieves that by using the same plan as other latest Lexus models, although on a more spectacular scale. The LC is poised to capture the position of the aging LS as the flagship model of Lexus.
2017 Lexus LC 500 Exterior
The external styling stays quite close to the unique LF-LC concept, meaning that, similar to every other Lexus models for the past few years, it is a love-it-or-hatred-it proposal. The size is spot-on at least, with a hood that appears sufficiently long to protect two engines. The front fascia comes outfitted with the trademark spindle grille of Lexus that offers it an aggressive look. The new coupe also comes with redesigned lights and other restyled external elements to meet the production requirements.
The new Lexus LC 500 2017 is expected to ride on a novel back-wheel drive platform with a 52 % weight distribution to front wheels and 48 % to its back wheels. Lexus has also taken much effort to reduce the overall weight of its 2017 model coupe by using liberal amounts of aluminum and high-strength steel door skins. A low sitting room and existing carbon-fiber top are meant to assist drop the center of gravity of the new model coupe.
2017 Lexus LC 500 Coupe Interior
The interior is somewhat a jarring compilation of shapes, as well as a passenger-side clutch handle that appears compulsory on the present models of performance sedans. The new LC 500 is expected to come outfitted with an upgraded model of the latest infotainment system of Lexus, in addition to an available Pioneer best audio system. The engineers of Pioneer, in fact, worked with the own bowfins of Lexus to optimize the sound performance within the cabin of the new coupe.
Beneath its elongated snout, the 2017 Lexus LC 500 engine comes outfitted with a V8 naturally-aspirated powertrain with the capacity of 5.0 liters, which was used to power the Lexus GS F and RC F models. As a result, the engine generates the same power and torque that account to 467 horses and 389 pounds per foot respectively. This engine will be paired with a 10-velocity mechanical transmission system. It also makes the new LC 500 Coupe to accelerate to a velocity of 60 mph from the start in less than 4.5 seconds. However, Lexus has plans to replace this transmission system with a more performance oriented double-clutch transmission system as quickly as possible.
